Project 52: First Sewing Project(s)

Let the obsession begin!  My dad bought EG a mini sewing machine last week, and she's already in love.  A girl after my own heart!  She helps me so often on the "big" sewing machine that she's pretty familiar with the basic workings.  However, I was still pretty surprised that she was able to apply all of that and pretty much use the machine right out of the box (because it's so complicated, you know...haha...).  She remembered how to lift the presser foot, turn the wheel to lift the needle up and down, etc.  and she was off.  It was so cute to see her so excited over a sewing machine that was "just her size"!  Now, I just have to figure out how to get my own sewing done when sewing is all she wants to do (and, obviously, she can't do it without supervision).  Very cute and fun though!  And, look at those fairly straight lines.  I think she's a natural :)

very first sewing "project"!

And, just for fun, here's the little pillowcase dress that started it all.  This was my very first sewing project, made for my little sweetie when she was 6 months old.  Ah...memories.  I know people always tell you how quickly they grow, and though I always believed it, I didn't really understand until I had a little one of my own.  EG is 3 1/2 today and, honestly, where did the last 3 1/2 years go??
