A little about me...and no promises :)

mommy and my sweet girl
I figure a blog should start out with a little about the author.  So......about me?  I live in Alabama.  I'm a mom to a three year old {going on 23 year old...} little girl and wife to my high school sweetheart.  I work full time as a 6th grade teacher at a local middle school.  I have a crazy busy life {that I adore}...with a little bit of time for crafting every now and then.

I love anything craft related, and I am a self-proclaimed craftblogaholic!  I think I follow every awesome craft blog there is!  I always get so inspired by all of the awesome projects, contests, etc. so I thought it was high time for me to create a place of my own to share my talents {that pale in comparison to the bloggy celebrities I follow} and ideas.  Thus, the creation of this blog - named Peanut to Princess because before my daughter was born we called her Peanut, and we've watched her grown from that tiny peanut into a little princess in our eyes.  I love to create things for little ones {particularly my own} and thought the tagline "hand made for every day along the way" was perfect to sum up the sewing adventures I've had along my daughter's journey from peanut to princess.  I also plan to possibly open up an Etsy shop to showcase all of the things I dream of creating one day {true confession, I have a shop where I sold a few custom Disney princess dresses, but I didn't really want that to define my sewing}.
one of my fave outfits

As for the "no promises"...I've done the bloggy thing before with a working mom blog that turned into nothing but reviews and giveaways that took up more time than I care to admit.  Blogging ended up being more of a chore than a fun activity, and I wasn't passionate about anything I was writing.  I discovered after my daughter was born that I truly have a passion for creating beautiful things with my sewing machine.  I spend most of my spare time sewing and reading the latest posts on my fave blogs, so I figure that's a pretty good topic I can stick with for a while.  However, this go around I'm not letting blogging take over all of my time, so I'm no promising any kind of post schedule {or even regular posting}.  I just wanted a place to express my ideas, share my creations from lovely tutorials I've found around the blogosphere, and connect with other like-minded you!

Thanks so much for reading!  I look forward to "meeting" you :)
